How to resize images for Instagram
- Max width is preset to 1080 px. For stories, also set max height to 1920.
- Drop your photos into the box above.
- Download and upload them to Instagram.
Instagram image sizes
Instagram changes its layouts from time to time, but 1080 px wide has been the standard upload width for years. Larger photos are downscaled by Instagram anyway, often with visible quality loss.
- Portrait post (4:5): 1080 × 1350 px, the format that takes up the most space in the feed.
- Square post (1:1): 1080 × 1080 px.
- Landscape post (1.91:1): 1080 × 566 px.
- Story or Reel cover (9:16): 1080 × 1920 px.
Resizing keeps proportions
Pixverter scales images to fit inside the width and height you set without stretching or cropping. To change the aspect ratio (for example to 4:5), crop in your phone's photo editor first, then resize here.
Frequently asked questions
Will resizing make my photo blurry?
No. Downscaling a large phone photo to 1080 px keeps it crisp. Pixverter never enlarges images that are already smaller than the limit.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Pixverter processes every image inside your browser, on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, so it is safe for personal photos and documents.
Should I use JPG or PNG for Instagram?
JPG at 85–95% quality. Instagram converts everything to JPG anyway.
