How to resize photos for email
- The preset (1600 px, 80% quality) suits most emails. Adjust if you like.
- Drop the photos you want to send into the box above.
- Download the smaller copies and attach them to your email.
Email attachment limits
Gmail allows attachments up to 25 MB per message and Outlook.com 20 MB. Bigger files get turned into cloud links or are rejected, and many company mail servers set even lower limits. Resized photos let you attach dozens of pictures to one message.
What size is right?
- 1600 px: great for viewing on any laptop or phone, typically 200–500 KB per photo.
- 1024 px: for lots of photos in one email, typically 100–250 KB.
- Original size: only when the recipient needs to print or edit the photo.
Frequently asked questions
Will the recipient see a blurry photo?
No. 1600 pixels is wider than most laptop screens show in an email, so the photo looks sharp.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Pixverter processes every image inside your browser, on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, so it is safe for personal photos and documents.
Can I resize iPhone HEIC photos too?
Yes. HEIC photos are converted to JPG and resized in one step, which also guarantees the recipient can open them.
